What To Fill Up In The Tooling Cost??? The Excel Sheet Provided For The Cost Report Has Many Formulas Missing At Their Respective Places... But My Main Question Remains How Are We Supoosed To Calculate The Tooling Cost Knowing That We Are Always Given The Overall Cost Of The Part We Have Purchased And Procured. Also The Process Cost Is Also Not Given Separately So Can We Assume The Rule Of The Rule Book That Rs 35/Hr And Based On The Number Of Hours We Spent In Fixing The Part The Cost Shall Be Calculated????

Does The Engine That Is Going To Be Delivered To Us, Come With The Exhaust Manifold Attached (In Which Case We Have To Design Only The Part After The Manifold) Or Is It Going To Come Without The Exhaust Manifold ( In Which Case We Have To Design The Entire Exhaust System Starting From The Engine Exhaust Valves)?

In The Name Of Mechsonic Racing, I Talked About How The Presentation Ended Abruptly In Less Than 5mins .... We Were Not Even Allowed To Present Our 5 Slides Out Of 20, Or Put Forth Our Other Assets....
So Basically It's Not CRIBBING, It's Just An Issue That We Faced And Are Not Happy About.
I Just Really Want To Know The Basis Of The Judgement. We Would Have Preferred A Systematic And Scientific Approach For The Selection Of Teams.

Brake Over Travel

Hi, I just wanted to ask that do we have to use brake over travel switch or not because in rulebook 1 it is given that it is to be used but in rulebook 2 there is nothing mentioned about brake over travel switch. also if it is to be used should it actuate on failing of even one master cylinder or should it actuate when both the master cylinders fail i.e. when the complete brake system fails, as it is given in rulebook 1 this switch must be installed in such way that the brake pedals over travel ( in the event of brake system failure), the switch will be activated and will stop the engine from running. please reply soon admin. reply from other teams are also welcome. thank you

according to the rule book tubes to be used for the roll hoops should have minimum 40mm x 2mm (outside dia - thickness). we are using chromoly 4130 and

Regarding Cockpit Opening Rule

Description

In Section 6.3.3.6.4, The Rulebook States That "A Free Vertical Cross Section, Which Allows The Template Shown In Drawing Y To Be Passed Vertically Through The Cockpit To A Point 100 Mm (4 Inches) Behind The Face Of The Rearmost Pedal When In The Inoperative Position, Must Be Maintained Over Its Entire Length. The Only Things That May Encroach On This Area Are The Steering Wheel, Steering Column And Any Padding That Is Required By Rule" .
Does This Simply Imply That The Section Must Maintain The Given Dimensions Or That A Template Will Be Physically Passed Through The Section At The Time Of Scrutiny? If It Is The Latter, Then How Are We To Place The Steering Column?
I Do Believe That The Rulebook Only Requires The Dimensions To Be Maintained. Yet I Wanted To Confirm.

Description

My Question Is Regarding The Rulebook Uploaded On 2nd August 2010. As Quoted Under The Section 3.2.5.1 Brake Test "The Vehicle Must Stop At One And Half Distance Of The Overall Length Of The Car When Driven At A Speed Of 40 Kmph." Please Correct Me If I M Wrong. Does This Sentence Means That Our Stopping Distance Should Be 1.5 Times The Total Vehicle Length At 40kph. If It Is True, Than How Is It Even Possible. Normal Length Of A Car Is About 2.3 M. 1.5 Times The Vehicle Length Means 3.5 M Which Is Very Less To Be Stopping Distance, Even If We Assume The Reaction Time Of The Driver To Be Zero. I Will Also Like To Know The Response Of Other Teams On This. Please Correct Me If I Am Wrong.
